Anxious Heart

The Bible says in Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Bible Gateway KJV 2023)

Or English Standard Version “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness[d] be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Bible Gateway ESV 2023)

But it is hard not to have an anxious heart when you see all that is going on in the world today.  In our house, we cancelled DirecTV.  I did enjoy watching football, but the local games were being scrambled and I couldn’t watch my favorite team.  I had NFL Network and I only watched that one team, but every time I tried to watch it, it would direct me to a local channel, and it wasn’t available because the networks are fighting over money.

1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (Bible Gateway KJV 2023)

That and all the other woke garbage on TV.  You can’t even watch something without seeing two men kissing and it made me sick, and in an effort to remove ourselves from the world and save money, we cancelled it!

That brings me to the Grammy’s and the disgusting display of abomination devil worshipping by a person that considers himself a they and non-binary performing a song that is called “Unholy”.  Call me naive if you want, but I had to look up what non-binary means.  I can’t even keep up with all the different letters of the alphabet they are using to describe themselves (LGBTQIA+).  What happens when “they” run out of letters, oh that is what the + is for.  And they (he) preformed the song with a person that is transgender, again I know what that means, but I don’t’ want to know what that means, and I don’t want it displayed on my television!  Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed in the Bible for something similar.

Genesis 19:1 “The two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed himself with his face to the earth and said, “My lords, please turn aside to your servant’s house and spend the night and wash your feet. Then you may rise up early and go on your way.” They said, “No; we will spend the night in the town square.” But he pressed them strongly; so they turned aside to him and entered his house. And he made them a feast and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them.” Lot went out to the men at the entrance, shut the door after him, and said, “I beg you, my brothers, do not act so wickedly. Behold, I have two daughters who have not known any man. Let me bring them out to you, and do to them as you please. Only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shelter of my roof.” But they said, “Stand back!” And they said, “This fellow came to sojourn, and he has become the judge! Now we will deal worse with you than with them.” Then they pressed hard against the man Lot, and drew near to break the door down. 10 But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them and shut the door. 11 And they struck with blindness the men who were at the entrance of the house, both small and great, so that they wore themselves out groping for the door.

12 Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Sons-in-law, sons, daughters, or anyone you have in the city, bring them out of the place. 13 For we are about to destroy this place, because the outcry against its people has become great before the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.” 14 So Lot went out and said to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, “Up! Get out of this place, for the Lord is about to destroy the city.” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be jesting.

15 As morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be swept away in the punishment of the city.” 16 But he lingered. So the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city. 17 And as they brought them out, one said, “Escape for your life. Do not look back or stop anywhere in the valley. Escape to the hills, lest you be swept away.” 18 And Lot said to them, “Oh, no, my lords. 19 Behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great kindness in saving my life. But I cannot escape to the hills, lest the disaster overtake me and I die. 20 Behold, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one. Let me escape there—is it not a little one?—and my life will be saved!” 21 He said to him, “Behold, I grant you this favor also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken. 22 Escape there quickly, for I can do nothing till you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.[a

23 The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar. 24 Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven. 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26 But Lot’s wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

27 And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord. 28 And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.

29 So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.” (Bible Gateway ESV 2023)

And let us not forget the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria where the death toll rises to 31,974: Disaster management authority.  Luke 21:7 “And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” (Bible Gateway KJV 2023)

Does it seem like there are more storms lately, flooding, earthquakes, tornadoes?  It certainly feels like God is pouring out his wrath on the world.

What about Russia attacking the Ukraine for no good reason except for booty and plunder.  Russia wants the resources that the Ukraine has.

Don’t forget about the chicken phenomena and no I am not talking about what came first the chicken or the egg.  We all know the chicken came first because God said so.  He made the animals first. Genesis 1:20And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds[g] fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” 21 So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” (Bible Gateway ESV 2023)

However, I am talking about the supposed avian bird flu and the killing of over 1 million chickens, making chickens and eggs scarce, and according to the law of supply and demand when the supply goes down and the demand goes up the prices go up.  The best thing you can do is get your own chickens, including a rooster(s) and incubator and hatch your own eggs.  And with the prices of everything going up and the economy crashing, I would also suggest buying some canned goods and keeping them for when times get hard and maybe even planting your own garden.  And while you are at it, if you hunt or fish, keeping some meat in the freezer.

And I would be remise, if I didn’t include the “spy balloons” or “UFO’s” being shot down in the United States.  The current count as of 14 February 10:32 is four shot down.

Therefore, what are we to do?  It’s hard not to be a little anxious, but we are supposed to pray and stand fast in the storm knowing and having faith that Jesus will return.   1 Thessalonians 4:13 “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen [b]asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who [c]sleep in Jesus.

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are [d]asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.” (Bible Gateway KJV 2023)

However, God is longsuffering and is waiting for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (Bible Gateway KJV 2023)

And finally, we are to comfort one another.  1 Thessalonians 5:1 “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be [a]sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

11 Therefore [b]comfort each other and [c]edify one another, just as you also are doing.” (Bible Gateway KJV 2023)

So, if you are feeling troubled or anxious like I am, know that everything will be alright in due time, in God’s time and God’s timing is perfect.
